i actually got rpg paper maker after this game because I've wanted to make something similar myself. I would kill for a video tutorial on how you managed to make a first person rpg in this engine because I cant seem to make heads or tails of it

Sadly, you're not the first to comment on not understanding how to recreate the mechanics of my game. I thought my tutorial series on Youtube would help guide users to get the basics down, but it seems a more in-depth explanation is required. I may need to create a separate series of tutorials for this.

Out of curiosity, which mechanics are you most interested in? If I can compile a list of the most desired ones, I can cut down on the number of videos I'll need to make.

Really fascinating to see RPG Paper Maker used this way. Just played through the game and I thoroughly enjoyed it! For some reason, however, I had problems executing the spells. I was only able to cast a spell once or twice, and I had to hold the Left Alt key for at least two or three seconds before anything would happen. Not sure whether it was intentional, but at the end, I kept on getting teleported to the first level  when I touched a certain wall.

Check out my playthrough here:

Is there any possibility you could put your game on Steam?
Reason i'm asking is because i can't buy in itch.io as they don't accept my country's money and it takes so much tax value + work for me to get some dollars in paypal to the point it's gonna be almost 3x the price considering how cheap it is.

Hahah, damn that sounds terrible! As it is right now, it'd cost $100 USD for me to submit my game to Steam Direct and I doubt I'd ever recoup the money (this is a short Game-Jam project). But I'll let you in on a little secret: just wait for the itch.io sale to end and the game will go back it's free/donation state. I only started charging because I wanted to try and get the game promoted via the sale. Turns out it hasn't really done anything in terms of views/downloads so I'll be reverting it at the end of the promotion.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Oh i see, i had no idea it costed that much, never published a game myself in there. Yeah that's completely understandable.
Thank you for the news and and thanks for replying. i'll follow you and wait the chance to try the game.

Thank you so much, and no need to apologize.

Enjoyable game and definitely an experience with how first-person was done for RPG Paper Maker!

I did run into a few errors (some inventory related) along with enemies despawning past some areas, but otherwise, I had completed the game without any issue.

I hope to learn how to create something amazing like this with the first-person perspective! Thanks Cid!

Thanks for the comment! There's a reason enemies despawn, however to explain it would take a bit of time. Suffice to say it was necessary to prevent enemies from becoming invulnerable to damage from the player.

Best of luck with your game!

Good job Cid!

Thanks, I'll get around to playing yours soon! Taking a little break after barely getting my game into a working state.

I feel you. I did more work on mine in one week than I did the whole three weeks prior.
